So basically if your opponent brings out Kyurem EX and Icecalibur is fully loaded then you’re done for. It’s honestly SUPER easy to get water energy since the attack cost for water is generally high anyway, and if you made a deck revolving just around Kyurem EX you’d win nearly every time unless someone created a deck specifically to counter yours.

This one was never that good, since Water Energy acceleration was practically nonexistent during this card’s entire existence in the standard format (this Kyurem-EX debuted right after Blastoise rotated out), until Guardians Rising, which introduced Aqua Patch, but by then players concluded that Lapras-GX is better in every way.
Also, the attack’s text says “Defending Pokémon”, so the attack lock only applies to the Pokémon that received the attack. That means switching removes this effect.
