Great card, but awful if it’s the only one you put down at start. Energy cost is pretty high. Also “Icecalibur”? Lol
ssANGELOFDEATHss
Could be okay in Archie’s Blastoise.
tototavros
Except the whole point of Archie’s Blastoise is to win the game in 3-4 turns.
EverPhoenix
And with Archie’s Blastoise this thing attacks on t1. Seems in line with winning t3-4
tototavros
If you aren’t getting a KO on an EX on T2, good luck winning on T4 at the latest, unless you pull some magical things out with Spread damage (takes 6 turns to ko an EX w/o healing, 8 turns PGroudon) or things like Overflow.
The problem w/ Archie’s Toise is that it has a deplorable lategame, despite a good early and midgame, while this thing is amazing for when your opponent runs out of switches.
You could try something w/ Regular Blastoise and Dusknoir BCR, that’d be really good if you can get manage the consistency problem.
ssANGELOFDEATHss
All I’m saying is that you can tech this for a (slightly) better lategame.
tototavros
You could, I just don’t know how good it would be, as 1-2 cards can really throw off the Archie’s Engine, unless you replace it w/ another non-playable card like a Pokemon, Energy, or Supporter.
Have you tested it?
ssANGELOFDEATHss
Not yet, but I should. But you’re right, it would be better to just run something different to make the engine more stable and/or faster.
tototavros
I would love to see your results! Just sub it in for Wailord-EX in Van Wagner’s list, an see where that gets you!
ssANGELOFDEATHss
This Kyurem yields a slightly more favorable seismitoad matchup (and Giratina too) because it shuts down item lock, but I think Wailord makes the deck more stable overall.
tototavros
AFAIK the deck doesn’t really have toad problems, especially from what I saw at the finals of worlds this year.
ssANGELOFDEATHss
Yeah, I know. That’s why you wouldn’t really want this.
Whitmer 4 POTUS
Cool art, but IMO full art Kyurem-EX from Next Destinies looks cooler :)
