It seems weird that someone at TPCI went out of their way to make sure this Lotad card has the same localization mistake the original Lotad it’s based on had – this is おどろかす, known in the English video game as Astonish, and nobody across PUSA/TPCI has made the mismatched translation in over 20 years – PK Lileep was the last card to get it wrong.
Per this comment, the Lanturn in this set also seems to go out of its way to reproduce an old localization even though it’s out of alignment with updated localization.
Across the two, I wonder if they went to such efforts because there originally was a plan to adapt SM6b as the special set for 2018 after all, but at some point someone at TPCI decided otherwise – maybe they felt the cards weren’t memorable enough? – and SM6b got scattered across several different English sets, and Dragon Majesty was awkwardly cobbled by grabbing random cards from other sets they were adapting around the same time.
