Was this item ever based on something from the original video games, like Incense and Lucky Eggs were?
Sweet Honey in Gen 4 had a similar effect but idk where this Lure Module comes from.

It’s a Pokemon Go original with no analogue in the main series, since they interact with Pokestops which *also* have no analogue in the main series.
Gun to my head though, it’s a solid state Dubious Disc.
