{C} → Lock-on
During your next turn, treat any tails flipped when using Magnemite’s Electric Bolt attack as if they were heads. (Benching or evolving either Pokémon ends this effect.)
{L}{C} → Electric Bolt : 50
Flip 2 coins. If both are heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. If either of them is tails, this attack does nothing (not even damage).

First Metal Magnemite card!

This was the only holographic Magnemite card printed until Hidden Fates, and then Cosmic Eclipse.

This is the actual debut of Zap Cannon to the TCG, but WOTC missed the memo on consistency with NOA’s translation of the attack (n.b. it seems like でんじほう would be best translated as “Electromagnetic Cannon”. Character limits explain NOA’s decision to shorten it to Zap Cannon – not sure what WOTC’s excuse is. Couldn’t be a censorship thing, they already had attacks with cannon in the name and would continue to have attacks with cannon in the name).
When Zap Cannon shows up again in the TCG, it seems they decided to take advantage of the conspicuous time gap and, being around the time the BW block of the TCG acted like a soft reboot for both the JP and EN TCG for this sort of thing, they gave Zap Cannon a very different effect. I think I like this version of Zap Cannon a bit better – even if it’s strictly worse, doesn’t it feel more accurate to Zap Cannon’s notorious inaccuracy in the games?

Oh, I think it could go without saying, but just to be sure – this is also the debut of Lock-On to the TCG. (Incidentally, it is still its *only* appearance in the TCG, at least as of October 2022.)

Wait, scratch that, Clawitzer BREAK exists. Very different effect for Lock-On as well!
