    Overrun is better

Overrun is a nice opening attack, but it doesn’t compare to Assault Laser. 120 damage for 2 Energy on a Basic and the ability to OHKO Yveltal is pretty darn good.

I think the only situation in which Overrun would actually do something is against Yveltal without a tool, or if your opponent plays Jamming Net (PHF) #98 in Pyroar and attaches it to your Mega Manectric after you used Overrun.

Just noticed that you can two-shot 180HP EXs if you have a Muscle Band attached and attack with Overrun followed by Assault Laser. But you’d probably rather Assault Laser + Muscle Band + LaserBank for 170HP EXs.

Overrun is there primarily as support for Assault Laser, allowing this thing to place four damage counters down almost unconditionally. The math doesn’t often add up that way thanks to the prevalence of high power EXes, but it DOES happen. Obviously, you also get the benefit of using Overrun to ‘finish off’ a wounded foe. Give this thing a muscle band, and drop a flare tool on the foe, and an Assault laser->overrun (or, alternatively, overrun->assault laser, if energy isn’t too kind to you) combo will do 180 to the active and 20 to a benched mon.

I don’t really know what’s played in Standard right now and I don’t even know if Mono Absol (with anti-fighting tech) even is a viable strategy, but if it is, and your meta consists mostly of stuff like VirGen and Yveltal and almost no Toad, then you probably want to play LaserBank to kill off those 170HP EXs and thus never use Overrun, but because there is Toad, you are probably right most of the time.
