Search your deck for a {L} Energy card and attach it to 1 of your Pokémon. Shuffle your deck afterward.

Rissa (Innocent_Shine) played this with Ampahros PL to totally PWN vilegar. Power wave once, shut down all pokemon powers on the opponent’s side.

How would that work? It wouldn’t shut down Allergy Flower, only Fainting Spell.

Right. But the deck focused more on Bebe’s Search etc than the popular trainer engines of the time. We also had a Regi in there. Honestly, we designed it JUST to be favorable against ‘dos and vilegar, and screw the rest of the meta.
California at the time was like 70% vilegar. It was sad.
Anyways, shutting down Fainting Spell was enough. Part of what made vilegar so good was the fact that people had to work around Fainting Spell with tricky damage placement. We said screw it, and just plowed through anyways. IIRC, hers used Lanturn Prime; and mine used Magnezone Prime. She preferred the ability to hit multiple weaknesses; i preferred to have a non-uxie draw engine. (Until Crobat G hit my poor Magnezones)

A nerfed version of this ability returned as “Bench Barrier” or “Wave Veil” on basic Pokémon.
But this stage 1 ability is def better because it also protects damage from your *own* Pokémon!

Actually scratch that — “Bench Barrier” on Mr. Mime was just as good as this Poke-Body!
Its reprints on Mew and Manaphy are slightly weaker.
(Also, what’s with the tradition of it only appearing on “M”-named Pokémon? Haha)
