    Mud Splash‘s Japanese name is “Muddy River” which is actually Marshtomp and Swampert’s signature move in the video games. However, it first appeared on Misty’s Seaking in the TCG. So eventually when the move became part of the video games and got a different English translation, it didn’t initially carry over to the TCG, since I guess they were trying to maintain some consistency (I don’t know why lol). Eventually in the DP sets the move was renamed to Muddy Water, but neither Swampert nor Marshtomp have had an attack with that name since!

      oops, Marshtomp has had a Muddy Water attack, but still none for Swampert
