There are 2 things that are really interesting about the wording of Intimidating Pattern.
1) It says to reduce the damage of the opponent’s attack, not just the damage done to Masquerain.
2) It says “*before* applying weakness and resistance”, which is quite unusual.
For a semi-competitive fun deck, I would run this Masquerain with SV Ninjask and Expert Belt for the Ninjask. I could circling dive back to the Masquerain and slowly widdle away at my opponents. And if I needed more cards, Skim Attack was great. No rates, super cheap, and stage 1’s meant it was FAST. People loved seeing it go.
