Mawile · 70 HP · {M}
Pokémon (Mawile) › Basic

{C} → Mining
Search your deck for an Item card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck. If that card is a Pokémon Tool card, instead of putting it into your hand, you may attach it to 1 of your Pokémon that doesn’t already have a Pokémon Tool attached to it.

{M}{C} → Bite Off : 20+
If your opponent’s Active Pokémon is a Pokémon-GX or a Pokémon-EX, this attack does 30 more damage (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

Attached to its head is a huge set of jaws formed by horns. It can chew through iron beams.

    Second Himeno illustration of Mawile (first time was in Crystal Guardians)! Interesting that there are crystals in the scenery here…

    It’s the exact same illustration as the 2006 version haha

    Surprising how little they changed. Given the power of ex Pokemon at the time, Bite off should probably do 100 damage if things scaled normally.

    Would Mining’s secondary effect ever work if the Gen 9 errata is in effect?

      I don’t think it would unless the specifically errata’d this card, or they errata’d previous mentions of “Item” to also include tools. I believe that was the case back when DP changed Supporters and Stadiums to not be considered “trainers”. Something like Girafarig MT couldn’t grab Supporters, but a card printed in the EX era could, though I might be wrong there.

    This card would be insane in GLC if Tools weren’t reclassified

      This card was legal in GLC for a couple years before the tool rework and was never used

        Yeah, decks usually just run Arven and Guzma & Hala to find tools (Cards like Green’s Exploration could also find them depending on the deck you play). And there’s always Adventure Bag if you’re really, REALLY desperate to find a particular tool.
