Why online scans of Gold Megas has been so butchered?!

Pkmmcards gets its “scans” primarily from PTCGL. The textured/embossed layers and foiling are stored as separate images and combined in real time when playing. For most cards, showing only the base layer isn’t a super big deal — if anything, it makes the core art easier to see. Mega Hyper Rares, on the other hand, convey almost all of their detail through the textured layer and foiling, so they just look incomplete without them
