It washes its face regularly to keep the coin on its forehead spotless. It doesn’t get along with Galarian Meowth.

Gen 8 is the first generation to only print one regular ol’ single-prize Meowth card. Traditional Meowth had a pretty amicable coexistence with Alolan Meowth throughout Gen 7, with a 3:5 ratio in English, but Gen 8 had a less even 1:5 ratio with the Galarian form, discounting alternate artworks and reprints (and with Alolan Meowth nowhere to be seen).
Meowth did get its very first multiprizer in Meowth V in addition to its VMAX, but the relative lack of Meowth cards nonetheless feels conspicuous now that the anime’s Ash-free reboot has also abandoned Team Rocket. Meowth will likely be featured significantly less going forward — unlike Pikachu, who got a new character thanks to obligatory mascot representation. A decade from now, poor Meowth might be regarded as yet another forgettable Normal-type, despite being the second-most-broadcast species at present.
My man certainly had a good run, though.
