“You know what the problem with this game is?”
“What, too many filler cards? Inflated card prices for competitive staples? Managing rotation to retain balance between older and newer cards?”
“No, I just don’t think we have enough Mewtwo cards.”
And thus this card was born.
Ambassador
This card is a spiritual reprint/retrain of WBSP3 (and WBSP14) Mewtwo. RS Mewtwo 𝒆𝒙 and MD Mewtwo were also retrains of the card, though MD Mewtwo added Recover as the second of 3 moves, and this card has Regeneration as its second of 3 moves. It’s the first time the attack appears in the English edition of the TCG, so it appears to be a unique attack created for this card as an upgraded version of Recover, but it is *maybe* borrowing it from Vending Weepinbell¹, as the JP name of the attack, さいせい, is the same as the first attack on that card.
It’s not a perfect case, as the attacks have nothing in common functionally – Weepinbell discards all Energy cards attached (and devolves?) when it uses its さいせい attack to remove damage counters, and Mewtwo EX isn’t paying anything to use its さいせい attack to removed damage counters, but it’s not a wholly new move.
