Nah, I just think they’re supposed to be in a themed café. A lot of themed cafés in Japan have dishes that are made to look like cute animals or characters, (the irl Pokémon Café is a great example if you look up their menu.) Sidney’s just spoiling his Mightyena like the huge softie he is.

This artwork was featured in the 2022 TCG Online Illustration Exhibition, and included a comment from the artist, GOSSAN:
“Before I was put in charge of this card, I viewed Dark-type Pokémon as cool and reserved. Mightyena, whose eyes sparkle as it sees the treats placed before it, is full of cuteness, and Sidney is watching it shyly with a tender expression. Other customers aren’t shown in the illustration, but they’d probably be wondering what these two are doing in such a cute restaurant! It is one of my favorite pieces.”
