I wish this card wasn’t banned. It’s a fun and creative ability. Is it really overpowered???

In the past there was a couple variants of TinaChomp decks that relied heavily on Mismagius (and possibly Dusk Stone) to manipulate your prize count (and draw cards ofc). Being down in prizes lets you take advantage of cards like Reset Stamp, Karate Belt, Counter Gain, Lt. Surge’s Strategy, Beast Ring, and Blacephalon CEC. It also used Lure Ball to get those KO’d Mismagius pieces back into hand. The key here is that your opponent can’t stop you from manipulating the prize count (outside of Garbodor I suppose). Nowadays Reset Stamp is banned (along with Surge), which would definitely make this strategy weaker. However, the other cards aren’t banned. Perhaps Pokemon thinks that being able to go down on prizes at will (with upside) is just too strong of a mechanic and/or limits future design space…? (Note that Milotic FLF, another “KO yourself with upside” card, is also banned.)

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks! That does seem like a super creative and smart strategy that could be exploited.
