Leap is actually the first appearance of the attack [はねる 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐔] in the Pokemon TCG, which you might know better as being infamously mistranslated as “Splash”¹ for the English video games. The attack next appears on N1 Hoppip, where it’s again translated differently – as Hop, which actually would’ve worked great for the name of the attack in the video games considering the English name of the Pokémon in question!!! After that, it’s again Hop on N3 Skiploom, and finally, it takes until EX Goldeen for [はねる 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐔] to be ‘translated’ as Splash and the English video games and TCG to finally be on the same page.
