Ambassador
This card is a reference to Mr. Mime ex FRLG110, and is meant to be a counterpart to Mr. Mime GX CES56 from the set prior (which is in turn a reference to Mr. Mime ex FRLG111).
Mr. Mime GX CES56 is originally from Champion Road, a JP set that was for select Gen 2/3 TCG cards what CP6/XY Evolutions was for Base Set – a ‘spiritual reprint’ set where a lot of playable/meta cards got updated versions, and most of the cards in that set ended up in Celestial Storm. However, this Mr. Mime GX was a Gym promo, and instead of doing the sensible thing and including it in the same set as its counterpart, it was held back and included in Team Up. A little mixed up, but one nice consequence of all this is that at least it has an odd number in the set, corresponding with its Magic Odds attack. (Just like its JP promo version has an odd set number, SM-P 231).
