Mysterious Fossil · 50 HP
Trainer › (Item) : Evolves into Kabuto, Omanyte, Aerodactyl, Aerodactyl ex, or Dark Omanyte · is: Fossil

Play Mysterious Fossil as if it were a Basic Pokémon. While in play, Mysterious Fossil counts as a {C} Pokémon (as well as a Trainer card). Mysterious Fossil has no attacks of its own, can’t retreat, and can’t be affected by any Special Conditions. If Mysterious Fossil is Knocked Out, it doesn’t count as a Knocked Out Pokémon. (Discard it anyway.) At any time during your turn before your attack, you may discard Mysterious Fossil from play.

@TrainerHez:disqus Could you post a link to that errata?

It was issued after a Fossil stall deck made a Worlds top cut match go on for several hours.
I can’t find it in the compendium though so I’ll ask on PokeBeach… watch this space!
(For others reading: Fossils were errata’d to give a prize when KO’d right?)

Fossils were changed to give a K.O. because of PoliStall.

From what I can tell. It was specifically an errata to counter the deck, but a errata when the DP sets came out as all the new fossils counted as a knocked out Pokémon, so they added the same effect to the old ones.
Even up to Power Keepers they still had the old printing.

That’s me asking that question :P
PokePop doesn’t seem to remember the ruling we’re all talking about and it’s been removed from the compendium by the looks of it!
I guess Mysterios Fossils are 0 prize cards again. If it becomes abusable in U150 I guess their rules team will just reinstate the errata for that format.
All other fossils got the errata printed on the cards.

I wonder how well a similar deck would do in today’s game. You could use Donphan and Robo Substitute to pull off something close to the same idea.

Donphan is one of the best decks in the format at the moment apparently

I’m aware. I was just wondering how a list that focused entirely on the Robo Subs would work. No Sigilyph, no Aegislash EX, no Outrage dragons, just straight up Donphan and Robo Substitute. Dowsing Machine and Trump Card could help you recover your subs. However, if you Trump Card, you can’t Korrina or Skyla for another sub, so it does make things a bit tricky to get them back into play.

No reason you can’t play LTC when you already have one in hand
