So in Generation 7 of the TCG, ‘normal’ Pokémon GX had GX attacks with a blue gradient on the GX attack and rule box, and would have a blue outline on the (non-rainbow) full arts. Ultra Beast GXs had as you see here – a weird red pattern on the GX attack and rule box (and the UB tag), and a red outline on the full arts.
In Generation 8 of the TCG, Pokémon VMAX have red clouds and (usually) red outlines, and it’s this time blue that’s the special color for the weird Pokémon, as only the Calyrex cards appear to have blue clouds and blue outlines. I think this time it’s coming from the video games so there’s a bit of a twist here (and I no longer play the video games starting with SWSH so idk anything about their weird orb headed horse that rides other horses), but the red/blue dichotomy is a neat, blink-and-you’ll-miss it way of differentiating ‘special’ Pokémon even within the same rule box class.

Oh huh, and Calyrex has blue Dynamax text instead of the typical red/magenta! Never noticed that til now. Looks like Eternatus gets a special one too, with a purple/pink gradient, though that’s less notable since its form has a different name entirely.

Primal Reversion-EX cards also get a different outline / color than Mega Evolution-EX cards.
