One of the Ultra Beasts, it’s unclear whether or not this Pokémon is sentient, but sometimes it can be observed behaving like a young girl.

“Nightcap” is one of the few moves in the TCG that lets you copy a move WITHOUT paying for its energy costs.
Other rare examples: Zoroark BREAK, TRR Dark Hypno, Zoroark-GX, Ditto VMAX and Mega Gengar EX.

Maybe I’m missing some premisse of yours, but there are other moves that do that.
In the Dark Hypno attack there is a key sentence for older cadrs (from BS to SW): “…except for its Energy cost.”
For newer cards the wording seems to be “…use it as this attack.“.
There must be other wording between that two ages.

Yeah there are a lot of cards that do this, it’s just tricky to readily find because they don’t just change the wording across eras, they sometimes changed the wording within eras. I can’t think of examples, but they’re definitely out there.

Thanks for sharing all this! I had been under the mistaken impression that all of these copycat moves *required you to have the energy cost.* That was my mistake, not reading carefully enough.

Is there any particular reason this card has gone up so much in price recently?
Charmaster
It’s relevant in Gym Leader Challenge (Though not as fundamental to its type as Ultra Prism Weavile also several dollars), and it also saw play in 2019 decks like Beast Box. Also, it’s one of the few appearances of Nihilego (Relevant for people who want to create Binder Dex’s), and the only non-Ultra Rare appearance of it (Making it even more important to a subset of that group). But as for how it’s gone from $4 to $7 to $10… I’d have a hard time telling you. It’s usually just a one-off in decks it does appear in, and it doesn’t appear in a terrible number of those. Maybe investors just saw it as a prime target for artificial scarcity? Cards like Giovanni’s Exile have also been shooting up in price recently.

I have been price charting many many cards that were much cheaper months ago. It seems like both Pocket and Prismatic Evolutions are having a major effect returning/bringing in new people to the hobby hence spiking prices. This feels like 2020 all over again.
