I remember thinking “N’s Zoroark ex isn’t going to be any good unless N’s Klingklang has an attack that can consistently do at least 240 damage. You won’t be able to deal with turbo basic decks, even if N’s Darmanitan can cheese evolution decks.” When this card was revealed, I thought it was all over, and N’s Zoroark ex would be the worst performing owner’s archetype of the set.
What I didn’t count on was the power of Counter Catcher, Pecharunt ex and Binding Mochi. Far from being the worst, N was seemingly the only archetype to be played as intended at a high level. Hop became an aggro-spread archetype instead of the Buzzwole GX / Lycanroc GX clone everyone expected (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bMh6QSxeNRA), Lillie’s Clefairy ex has become a tech in Area Zero Underdepths toolboxes and anything else in need of a Dragapult ex response, and the Iono’s Bellibolt ex archetype is fairly casual, whether it attacks with Raging Bolt ex or Iono’s Voltorb.
I wonder how well this comment will age. Like fine wine? Or like fine milk?
(Also, I spent WAYYYY too much time typing the hyperlinks. I wonder whether it would be better for me to post competitive history comments on the first, lowest rarity print of an ex or the most desirable high-rarity print if I want people to see them in the future.)

I mean, it’s been doing just fine since I made my comment (It’s gotten 22 top 8 placements in major tournaments in Masters alone, and made the Seniors Finals at Worlds), thanks to cards like Munkidori SFA, Toedscruel PAR, Binding Mochi and Counter Catcher, but I won’t say no to an N’s Zekrom with a base damage of 250!
