It seems a bit slow, since you would have to wait a turn or two to draw the cards you searched out. Was there some form of draw support to complement this card?

When first released, there was also “Bill”. Bill didn’t become a Supporter until he was reprinted in HeartGold & SoulSilver; his reprint in the Legendary Collection was still as a “normal Trainer”, so could legally use Oracle, then play Bill to instantly access both cards. Plus the two were still good on their own, and as others have said, later combos made this a good play.

Bill wasn’t given a errata, so you could use that.

It was only made a supporter eight years later though, right?

Right; when Oracle was released, Oracle=>Bill was a power play. I remember combing through all the smaller hobby stores I knew of in town to find the Starter Deck that had an Oracle in it, so that I could have a few for my deck.

It’s like a double Twins, except you don’t have to be losing. Broken when combo’d with the right cards (like Delcatty RS).

Wouldn’t you need an energy from your hand to discard when you just shuffled your hand away?

Why would you go and do a thing like that? Neither of those cards told you to!

Oh whoopse, for some reason I read “shuffle your hand into the deck” on Oracle somewhere xD

From the time of Oracle’s release until the shift to Expedition-On for Modified (Standard) play, the big combo was to use Oracle with Bill. Bill was reprinted in the Legendary Collection, but this was when he was still a “normal Trainer” and not a Supporter. ^^

It is kind of funny; this joins the list of card effects for older (or at least adult) male characters returning to the game under the name of a new, younger, female character. I don’t mean Professor Oak/Professor Juniper, either (though that is close): Bianca inherited Professor Birch‘s effect and Shauna inherited the effect of Professor Oak’s New Theory. Of course, it does go both ways: N has a slightly tweaked version of the effect found on Rocket’s Admin, and “Draw 3 cards.” is an all boys club.

What happened 5 years ago? Did this card’s effect come back in some shape or form?

I think they were talking about Mallow.

I wonder who this guy is. I love the cards from the E-reader and ex eras that just made up characters to be supporters.
