Pokémon (Parasect) › Stage 1 : Evolves from Paras

Pokémon Power ⇢ Allergic Pollen
As long as Parasect is in play, cards in any player’s discard piles are not affected by attacks or Pokémon Powers. This power stops working if Parasect becomes Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.

{G}{G} → Sleep Pinchers : 30
Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Asleep.

It stays mostly in dark, damp places, the preference not of the bug, but of the big mushrooms on its back.

This card is SO close to going into my Grass deck, if only it included Trainers as well. Blocking Item Finder and Junk Arm would make it a handy tech. :(

Wait…. Abilities are split into Powers an bodies in 150, right? I’m not exactly sure what decks people play in that format, but shutting down Dynamotor is always trollish fun.

The eel does see quite a bit of play actually, but this guy’s such a poor Pokemon otherwise it’d really have to block Trainers to be worth the deck space. Catchering/Gusting it up and abusing its 2 retreat is the usual way to deal with it. Please prove me wrong though, always love to see some crazy deck lists, especially one with Parasects! >_<

Were this Power to ever reappear, it would be immensely helpful in supporting attacks like Volcarona V‘s Surging Flames.

This card was designed to shut down Riptide Feraligatr – and it worked, at least for the JP half of the card game. The JP text for its Riptide attack specified that if you didn’t shuffle any {W} Energy back into your deck as part of the attack, then the attack will not add any extra damage. For whatever reason, WOTC left that entire sentence out. Now, don’t misunderstand the situation – Feraligatr was a good card whether or not that caveat existed, but because WOTC omitted that, when Parasect came out to try and balance Feraligatr out a bit, it instead appeared to be an ASSET to it, offering the ability to keep firing off Riptide with a {W}-filled discard pile turn after turn after turn.
