You might recognize this card’s art style from Pokémon Café Mix, and indeed, Hiroyuki Yamamoto is the art director for that game. All of Yamamoto’s previous work for the TCG has been 3D renders, so I thought they were different guys with the same name at first.

I mean, if this IS a case of two different illustrators with the exact same name, pkmncards isn’t going to realize it if the rest of us don’t. Also, those other cards were created in 2017 and 2019, and there were only three of them, so the illustrator’s previous work was long ago and intermittent. But you are probably right about it being the same illustrator.

Definitely the same person! https://yamowl.tumblr.com/ is their Tumblr, and you can see their posts about both Dragonite SUM 96 and Pikachu MEW 173. Incidentally, they also did some pack art for various sets throughout both the SM and SWSH Series.

By the way, a full set of 151 with all parallel holos comes out to 360 cards exactly — which will just fit inside of the officially licensed 151 binder. There won’t be room for the cosmos energy cards, though!
