This has to be my favorite Pikachu card, and one of my favorite old school cards in general. I love how the background is colored and how it contrasts so much Pikachu’s yellow, and I also really like how the artist used the lightning rays in a clever way, making them seem as a sort of action lines that make Pikachu’s pose stand out. Another aspect that I really like about this card is that is of common rarity, which means it was easy for people to get it and it’s also easy to find nowadays. It makes me happy that a card with such a cool illustration is easily available.
