   Funny that there are these two Pikachu cards in this set, back-to-back. One is a common and the other is a rare holo, but neither has a Raichu it evolves into. Very odd in the TCG!

     Also, is that a literal photograph of a human next to Pikachu? That’s something else that’s pretty odd in the TCG!

       I think the N-DESIGN (presumably “N” for Niantic) artwork might use actual photos and mix it in with photorealistic renders so that yeah that *could* be a photo of a real person.

         It looks pretty realistic. The human next to Eevee #054/078 looks a bit less realistic, though it’s hard to tell…

         To follow up on something I said above – I don’t think N-DESIGN is Niantic. It was bugging me as to why Niantic would invent “N-DESIGN, Inc.” as a company name for their cg work and I’d have such a hard time finding it on Google, and then Binged it and found, well, a cg company called N-DESIGN, Inc.

         They don’t list the PTCG as one of their “works” on the site so no hard confirmation here, but couple this with the above and the fact N-DESIGN Inc. is credited on a few cards in Brilliant Stars, Lost Origin, and Silver Tempest and/or “SWSH12.5”, and the idea it’s Niantic becomes a bit less likely.

   “Buddy Bolt” is a similar move to “Brave Buddies“, which appeared on Eevee V and CEC Silvally-GX.
