Ambassador
This is one of the first cards with an illustration attributed to Hideaki Hakozaki. According to both Bulbapedia and ポケモン, the year prior to this card coming out he founded a company called PLANETA in 2011. This is sourced to what was apparently Hakozaki’s personal website [ http://www.pakoroom.com/ ] which no longer loads and doesn’t seem to have any functioning backups on archive.org. But, uh, no worries, as, PLANETA’s company website http://pla-neta.co.jp/vision || https://archive.php/ziZK2 *does* list Hakozaki as PLANETA’s founder. (Of particular interest to me, it confirms he was a freelancer from 2007–on. I had been wondering if all Pokémon Prime illustrators – of which Hakozaki was one of them – were necessarily Creatures staff or not. The answer then, is no.)
Staying on topic, Hakozaki stopped being credited as an illustrator in the TCG c.2012 (depending how you count it, I think either BCR Cresselia EX or BW66 Ninetales would be considered his last card – I’m inclined to the former), and PLANETA began to receive card art credits c.2014(?), though, as noted on the company website, their work for the TCG started in 2012 for the booster pack art of BW7 Plasma Gale and BW Spiral Force / Thunder Knuckle. https://archive.ph/bRHHB The company continues to do work for the TCG and showed up in the credits of the video game Pokémon Legends Arceus, listed there as one of the 3D Graphic Design Partners.
