When comparing BS Poliwag to EVO Poliwag, one may be disappointed to find that even though both have the Water Gun attack, this card’s Water Gun attack is a less novel variant that just does damage. This is an update for consistency’s sake, as starting in the BW block of the TCG, Water Gun was one of the many attacks that got a functional ‘reboot’ of sorts – so that starting with BW Oshawott, the attack became a simpler one that just does damage.
Evolutions isn’t too worried about dogmatic adherence to the original cards, so deference to the modern function of the attack is par for the course for this set.
