Poké-POWER ⇢ Dimensional Transfer
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may flip a coin. If heads, search your discard pile for a Trainer card, show it to your opponent, and put it on top of your deck. This power can’t be used if Porygon-Z is affected by a Special Condition.
{C}{C}{C} → Suspicious Beam Beta : 80
If Porygon-Z has no Rainbow Energy attached to it, Porygon-Z does 20 damage to itself and Porygon-Z is now Confused.

Its programming was modified to enable it to travel through alien dimensions. Seems there might have been an error…

You know how we have it where cards mentioned on 6P link here? What if every time a card mentioned another card in its text, the text had a link to that card. I wouldn’t worry about evolution (unless you want to link to a search) or “for each [Pokemon X] in play” clauses, but for things like special energies, Pokemon Tools, Stadiums, and what not would be awesome.

Or you could just go to the top of the page and search for it. I don’t see the point of linking like that if the search bar is about four inches to the right of the card =) That’s why it link on Sixprizes, since the site doesn’t have its own convenient search bar.
Also the card pictures are just still images. Can’t link text in an image unless all the .jpgs are changed to .swfs in Flash and then the tiny little words were given clickable boxes. That’s the only way I know of, at least. It would not only making embedding difficult, it would slow the site down a whole lot.

Yeah I was actually thinking of doing something like that at some point. How much does everyone actually look at the text though?

Does Holon’s Electrode/Magneton count?
reshikrom64
Nope. It asks specifically for an Energy card with the name “Rainbow Energy”.

I love the flavor text on this.

Interesting. A colorless Pkmn that requires a Rainbow Energy to make full use of it’s attack. huh.

Considering using this. A shot at getting an Energy Removal or Gust of Wind back every turn seems ok if I’m going to be playing Porygon2 anyway. Such a weird attack though @_@

Looks like a “Dubious Disc” in the artwork here!

Fun fact about this card:
The Attack name is supposed to be read as “Suspicious Beam Beta”, but because the type-face used for Pokémon cards—Gill Sans—doesn’t support Greek letters, they used an Eszett (ß) character, instead of a Beta (β) character.
Older cards that feature Greek letters, such Mystery Plate β and Miracle Sphere β used a different typeface for the letter instead.
Gill Sans Nova, which DOES support Greek, didn’t go public until five years after this card was printed.

(BTW: This is also why Russian-language cards from the XY block look kinda bootleggy, because Gill Sans doesn’t support Cyrillic either.)

Ehh, do you really think so? I think they look fine – it might be a case of preferential bias for the typefaces you’re used to seeing on the cards. For my money the yellow border made cards look bootlegged more than anything else.
DaneeBound
Yes, I think so.
The typeface Gill Sans has been part of this game’s visual identity since its international debut. And for all the changes they’ve made to the front face of the card since ’98 (hello, e-Card series), the font is just about the one thing that has stayed consistent in all of it.
It’s as endemic to the card design as Matrix and ITC Stone Serif are to Yu-Gi-Oh! and as Goudy Medieval has been to Magic the Gathering (at least until Eighth Edition, when WotC copied Yu-Gi-Oh!’s example and also started using Matrix for its cards, starting a long line of “This does not look like a Magic card” complaints for each revision to the cardframe they’d do forever after).

This is also in part why I actually feel the opposite way about the yellow card border.
Which is not to say I completely hate the new silver border, far from it, actually. But with every card now baring silver as their border, it makes the Ultra Rare Full Arts (which have always had that silver border) less special. (a complaint reminiscent of how the M15 card-frame revision in Magic did likewise to Plainswalkers).
