It has an easygoing nature. It doesn’t care if it bumps its head on boats and boulders while swimming.

Why is this weak to Lightning??? Wooper is weak to Lightning too, and they’ve done that one before in Aquapolis, but this is the first Quagsire weak to lightning

Creatures hasn’t really cared about respecting a Pokemon’s actual weakness and resistance for years. They only consideration they regularly give to a Pokemon’s other type is Lightning weakness due to being flying type in the video games, but they’ll do that even if the Pokemon should only take neutral damage (see: most Zapdos cards being lightning-weak).

Actually, cards don’t have weakness based on what type they are in the TCG, or their game-typings. Rather, weakness and resistance are based on only 1 of the card’s game-types (let’s call it the card’s “type group”), and every card in the same “type group” has the same weakness/resistance. For example, quagsire belongs (at least on this card) in the “water group”, hence the lightning weakness. An important detail is that the weakness/resistance of lots of “type groups” has changed between generations (that is why past water quagsire printings had grass weakness, back in the day that was the weakness of the “water group”).

Weakness and resistance used to be a lot less standardized. It could be kind of janky at times, such as when https://pkmncards.com/card/gyarados-base-set-bs-6/ resisted Fighting but was weak to Grass, but it could also be really nuanced, like how three out of seven Diamond and Pearl/Platinum era https://pkmncards.com/?s=bronzong were weak to Fire and resisted Psychic to represent their Fire weakness and Poison immunity, and the other four were WEAK to Psychic and RESISTED Fire to represent their Ghost weakness and the Fire immunity granted to half of all Bronzong in the video games by the heatproof ability!

Honestly, I feel today’s pokemon TCG could use some of that less standardized jank. For example, I’d thematically love to see another pokemon with 3 attacks
Pual
But bronzong wasn’t weak to ghost in that era, steel resisted ghost until gen 6.
