I wonder how much play this card would have seen if it’s hadn’t, you know, dropped just 2 months before 95% of the best VMAX cards rotated 🥴

Pokémon like Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX, Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX, Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX and Duraludon VMAX would still be legal. As a matter of fact, the only really relevant VMAX from 2020 by the time this card released was Eternatus VMAX, which wouldn’t be compatible with Radiant Eternatus.

That’s true lol. There were some really good VMAXes in E block that could still be played throughout 2023 when Radiant Eternatus was still legal. But they didn’t see much play because the meta shifted away from 3-prizers.

Honestly, the meta didn’t even shift that far away in 2023, as Mew VMAX, Flying Pikachu VMAX, and Inteleon Urshifu were all still fantastic cards during the first year of the SV era… The real problem with Radiant Eternatus was that the two cards that really made this card concept function, Quick Ball and Scoop Up Net, vanished into the grasp of rotation. Without easy Basic to hand search and the ability to reset Eternatus if you started it in the active, it was just far too clunky. I would love to see a deck running this, maybe with Ditto V SHF to smooth things over, in a SWSH block game!

It’s kind of a shame this card never took off. It reads awesome and right at the end, you could Crispin onto it if you really wanted.

Are you the real jp? Or an imposter?

I’m confused. Did this card really get affected by rotation? The first post seems to be wrong.

a couple months after it released, Scoop Up Net rotated. That card let you pick up Eternatus if you start it which was big in helping it not be a dead starter

Thanks, that was a bit tricky to follow.
