    · Alt. color Jirachi previously showed up in the TCG in Shining Legends.
    · The opportunity for an automatic KO is something of a theme for Jirachi cards, as seen with Doom Desire (Jirachi 𝒆𝒙¹, LA Jirachi, and ROS Jirachi) and Perish Dream (CES Jirachi ◇).
    · It’s nice to see Jirachi continue to get nearly every single kind of star treatment card, though it did miss out on a VMAX or VSTAR this era..
    · I think both the Ability and attack translations are disappointing. The Ability’s name is ねがいをたくす [𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐢 𝐨 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐬𝐮], which can translate to “Make A Wish”. This could well be a reference to the name of the ending song of the English edition of the Jirachi movie. Aside from some Pokémon cries, it was one of the first – and maybe only? – times the 4Kids dub actually left anything from the original JP vocals intact in anything they ever dubbed(!), so it’s more than unfortunate yet another cross-cultural thing seems to be undermined².

ほしのわざわい [𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢 𝐧𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐢] is not accurate but there’s a bit more leeway here since it *could* be translated a few ways, but anything other than “Star” for ほし[𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢] is uncommon, and I suspect the ‘translator’ wanted to just make up a cool-sounding name. If they wanted to do that, I reckon there were better options – I’ve seen “Comet Calamity” and “Astral Disaster” thrown out there.

¹ Not the CG Jirachi 𝒆𝒙, but a JP-only promo: https://pokumon.com/card/jirachi-ex-032-play-japanese-promo/
² If you’re not happy with the odds of this being an intended reference, it’s still a mediocre translation. ねがいをたくす [𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐢 𝐨 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐬𝐮], which is similar to the original JP name of the attack Doom Desire, はめつのねがい [𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐬𝐮 𝐧𝐨 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐢], so if there was no motivation for a very old callback reference, they should’ve been consistent in the translation as a way to reference Doom Desire. There just isn’t any other way to look at this card’s translations but someone just making stuff up on the spot. I personally think it’s ridiculous.
