“Sonic Legs” hits your opponent’s bench, as do “Sonic Double” (Salamence 𝙑𝙈𝘼𝙓) and “Sonic Strike” (Garchomp 𝙑).
I think this is a new translation that started in Gen 8? I couldn’t find bench-hitting attacks named “Sonic ____” pre-2020.

They kind of are the same and they kind of aren’t the same. おんそくれんきゃく can be translated to Sonic Legs – it could be translated other ways, too, but Sonic Legs is fine. Garchomp V’s ソニックストライク is phonetically spelling out the English phase “Sonic Strike”. There’s nothing to translate.

Thank you! I asked because those moves aren’t like the typical “Sonic” moves that evade weakness/resistance:
1️⃣ Sonicboom / Sonic Boom (first appears in Gen 1)
2️⃣ Aqua Sonic (first appears in Gen 2)
3️⃣ Supersonic Claws (first appears in Gen 3)
4️⃣ Sonic Wing (first appears in Gen 3)
5️⃣ Sonic Evil (first appears in Gen 7)
6️⃣ Sonic Edge (first appears in Gen 7)

Supersonic Claws was originally “Mach Claw“, and it looks like there are some other “Mach” attacks that ignore resistance, and I think a couple that target the bench as well (i.e. very similar to “Sonic”). It doesn’t look quite as defined as “Sonic”, and some of that might be localization antics, but you’d be looking for instances of マッハ for Mach.

Gotcha! Here’s the equivalent “Mach” attacks that I found:
1️⃣ Mach Punch (first appears in Gen 3)
2️⃣ Mach Blade (first appears in Gen 4) [so far only on one Skarmory]
3️⃣ Mach Claw (first appears in Gen 5)

Yeah, you’d probably want to cross-reference the original names of the attacks since there’s at least one instance of “Mach” being added where it wasn’t.
