Recall
Trainer › (Item)

For your attack this turn, your Active Pokémon can use any attack from its Basic Pokémon card or any Evolution card attached to it. (You still have to pay for that attack’s Energy cost.)

With Flail, you mean? Was that an effective strategy back in the day?
Because I know a similar strategy exists with Memory Capsule on Gyarados VMAX nowadays!

With this trainer, Base Set Gyarados could access Flail and potentially do 90 damage for only {W}!! Whoa. 🤯

The fact that it’s a slowpoke makes it even scarier.

*slowbro (you can see the shell in the back)

Slowpoke wouldn’t have any use for recall

The original name of this card is 思い出させる [𝐎𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐮] – “Recall” isn’t unfair, but 思い出させる has a connotation of being reminded of something by someone else. It can be considered as distinct from the attack an attack shows up years later down the line – おもいだす[𝐎𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐮] – which also got translated as “Recall” (as on GEN Charizard RC5 and CEC Empoleon).

I didn’t finish my thought here, whoops. おもいだす[𝐎𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐮] doesn’t have any sense of being externally prompted to recall/remember/be reminded of something, so it fits as the name of an attack a Pokémon could use of its own volition, and 思い出させる [𝐎𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐮], complete with a very Rocket’s Secret Machine-y looking device¹, fits as the name of this Trainer card.

¹ Still surprised it isn’t one.
