No, but just using one GX attack can be incredibly powerful. https://pkmncards.com/card/dialga-gx-ultra-prism-upr-100/ lets you take an extra turn while doing some damage, and you can follow up with https://pkmncards.com/card/kyurem-shrouded-fable-sfa-047/ ‘s Trifrost to either knock out three frailer Pokémon, or set up three less frail Pokémon to be knocked out with a subsequent Trifrost. Timeless GX can knock out a bench barrier Pokémon, give you time to attach an Energy to a second Regidrago VSTAR, or give you a second chance to play a https://pkmncards.com/card/guzma-burning-shadows-bus-115/ or https://pkmncards.com/card/prime-catcher-temporal-forces-tef-157/ . Given that you can use Apex Dragon on your second turn consistently with https://pkmncards.com/card/double-dragon-energy-roaring-skies-ros-97/ , it’s not much of a surprise that the deck dominates expanded at the moment. https://limitlesstcg.com/tournaments/514

So i’m guessing that any limitations on an attack would still be applied?

For the most part, yes, but it’s worth noting that the name of the attack you’re using is always “Apex Dragon” regardless of what you copy, so effects like “during your next turn, this Pokemon can’t use [attack name]” are bypassed.

So this is insanely overpowered if you use the right cards. Does this see much tornament play?

@someone In Standard format, the official format for modern tournaments where sets past a certain age are banned from play, it was THE deck to beat for a couple months. It was an underdog for a while that struggled with staying consistent and accelerating energy to power itself up, but the combo of Teal Mask Ogerpon ex and Energy Switch fixed both of those problems for it, and it dominated the format.

In Expanded format, where many more sets are legal, it has access to better energy acceleration, better attacks, better everything. I don’t follow expanded very closely, but as far as I know it’s always been very good.

It wasn’t just access to energy acceleration via https://pkmncards.com/card/teal-mask-ogerpon-ex-twilight-masquerade-twm-025/ that made Regidrago dominant in standard. It was solid when Ogerpon came out, to be sure, but it didn’t REALLY go off the rails until the Kyurem I mentioned earlier came out. And if a Pokémon like https://pkmncards.com/card/manaphy-brilliant-stars-brs-041/ was protecting benched Pokémon from Kyurem’s attacks, the Legacy Star Ability made it super easy to turn it off with the combination of Prime Catcher and https://pkmncards.com/card/canceling-cologne-astral-radiance-asr-136/ , letting you board wipe your opponent in peace.

The Senior division finale at the 2025 World Championships was a brutal game between Regidrago VSTAR and https://pkmncards.com/card/gardevoir-ex-scarlet-violet-svi-086/ , where the Gardevoir player never really stood much of a chance. Too many frail basics, and no better way to protect them than to bench Manaphy and pray the Regidrago player failed to find the Prime Catcher/Cancelling Cologne combo.
