If Donphan were still worth playing, I’d totally play this in D&D.
JakeO
Donphan is still worth it, but I think he needs a few good partners that nobody has found yet.

No, Donphan is NOT still worth playing. A tank 2-shot by half the meta and one-shot by the rest is NOT worth playing, and Mewtwo is the better cheap attacker.
JakeO
A one energy attacker that isn’t one shot by by Zekrom EX or Mewtwo EX is definitely worth it. Add in the fact that he hits Zekrom EX, Magnezone, Eelektrik, and Regigas for weakness and he’s worth playing. I’m not saying you could play a straight donphan deck and win, but I do think that he has a lot of potential in a Lightning/Mewtwo meta. With a few good partners he can do very well.
Curtis
Zekrom EX can still OHKO him with a single PlusPower. Unless you really want to set up the Heavy Impact, he’s still going to have to 2-shot the Zekrom EX. The only Pokemon that’ll really have trouble with him is Magnezone, because he still hast to Lost Burn 4 (or 3 with Plus) to KO him. Mewtwo still does have trouble with him, though.
JakeO
It’s a fair trade for the Zekrom EX though, considering how much they have to set up for him to be useful and the two prizes you take when you KO it.
coolestman22
No, I’d rater play Eelzone, MewtwoBi, or ReshiBoar EX.
lynxdrag
Play this in a lock deck with reuniclus and vileplume. Then it is beast although the 2 prize thing could hurt a bit. A thought though. Otherwise yeah. I like it a lot
JakeO
Completely agree with you. The two prize is a lot more meaningful then it seems though, if you somehow manage to KO one then that could make it a lot easier to stall for time and win the game.
Pokémon 31337
Ah, if they made LEGENDs for the Regi trio…they could have an attack called “Bro Power”. But this is also pretty awesome.
coolestman22
Bro Power LOL.
David Rowell
There’s upcoming legends for the regi-trio in the next couple of sets.
coolestman22
no, LEGENDs, not EX’s. https://pkmncards.com/card/darkrai-cresselia-legend-triumphant-tm-99/

This card would probably be better saved for KO’ing EX’s like Mewtwo, but it’s first attack could make it a higher HP Tornadus
Not sure how I feel about this card :/

Crazy to think the Regigigas from SM4+ is a non-EX/GX basic and has just as much as HP as this card from 5 years ago ._.
Otaku
Yeah, but at the same time it could be a very good thing. How so? Pokémon (TCG) is beholden to Pokémon (VG). In the video games, Pokémon have HP scores that range from what, 1 to over 700? Plus the Defense and Special Defense stats that don’t have a direct corollary and are probably best handled by folding them into the HP when trying to “translate” things from the VG to the TCG. Higher HP scores may signal power creep, but they also allow more wiggle room in creating attacks; with higher numbers, doing less damage for a bonus effect has the chance of being relevant.
Of course, all this has to be implemented in the proper manner, if not… yeah, just crazy power creep. @_@

Super epic artwork. Coolest Regigigas card ever made!
