A rare Pokémon discovered during a deep-sea exploration. It has not changed in over 100 million years.

I find it cute that they gave Relicanth, a super-obscure Pokemon, a shiny version–especially cuz super high-profile Pokemon like Venusaur, Dragonite, Raichu, etc. have never appeared in their shiny form!
Nos
Raichu actually did get a shiny card in the form of Shining Raichu. It doesn’t resemble the modern shiny Raichu, but does match its gen 2 sprite. But I do appreciate the Platinum sets giving us more obscure shinies after Neo and EX mostly gave them to high profile, popular Pokémon.

That’s right–I forgot about shining Raichu, my bad! Still, though, I think it’s funny there’s plenty of high-profile Pokemon still awaiting shiny form: Squirtle, Clefairy, Shaymin, Manaphy, Arcanine, etc…
