Cool potential, here, to de-evolve then re-evolve the Pokemon to get an Ability effect from the Stage 1 / Stage 2 Pokemon (e.g., Persian DS #50).
Options to get the discarded evolution card from your discard pile: PL Pokemon Rescue, BKT Buddy-Buddy Rescue, GRI Rescue Stretcher, and EVS Rescue Carrier.

Devolution Spray lets you skip the discard-pile-recovery entirely, but the downside of that path is it doesn’t give you {C} energy, as this card does.
