{C} → Summoning Gate
Look at the top 8 cards of your deck. You may put any number of Pokémon you find there onto your Bench. Shuffle the other cards back into your deck.
{P}{C} → Brain Shake : 100
Your opponent’s Active Pokémon is now Confused.

While it could use its psychic abilities in battle, this Pokémon prefers to swing its powerful arms around to beat opponents into submission.

Can “Summoning Gate” be used to put VIV Shedinja and the upcoming Palafin ex into play?
Gaardus
There isn’t a ruling for Reuniclus specifically, but rulings for both Nest Ball and Thorton make it clear that alternate methods of putting a Pokemon into play don’t bypass Shedinja’s Shell Survival. ( https://compendium.pokegym.net/category/4-abilities/shell-survival/ ) As far as I can tell, no cards disable the Abilities of Pokemon in the deck, so Reuniclus can never put them into play. There are, however, a few cards from the BW and XY eras that can disable Abilities in the hand, allowing Shedinja and Palafin ex to be played from the hand normally.
Sam
Yes you can put any Pokémon into play.

There’s definitely pokemon that Summoning Gate can’t put into play, such as cards with mechanical restrictions like V-UNIONs and BREAKs. Summoning Gate implicitly does ignore rules (e.g. evolution requirements), but I’d agree with Gaardus that the Nest Ball and Thorton rulings imply that Shell Survival takes precedence.
But yeah, something like Silent Lab is gonna be way more convenient for circumventing Shell Survival anyway, if that’s the intent.

Silent Lab won’t work since it can’t disable Abilities in the deck.
Twylis
I mean that Silent Lab can be used *instead* of Summoning Gate, and simply play Shedinja from hand.
