Yeah, the watercolor medium and often dynamic or goofy poses make Gen 1 and 2 Sugimori artwork a treat. Those “oil painting” backgrounds (Actually filtered stock photos!) on most of the illustrations were also in excellent taste, providing a seemingly traditional art medium backdrop for another traditional art medium (One could say the final result was MIXED medium).
