Poké-POWER ⇢ Excavate
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may look at the top card of your deck. Put that card back on top of your deck, or discard that card. This power can’t be used if Sableye is affected by a Special Condition.
{C} → Disable : 10
Choose 1 of the Defending Pokémon’s attacks. That Pokémon can’t use that attack during your opponent’s next turn.

This Sableye is such a troll! *looks over at Mewtwo EX* “Excuse me fine sir but, you’ll have to end me using your second attack next turn as I’m Disabling ‘X-Ball’. Sucks to be you”. >:)

Was pretty good against several of the big attackers in the ex/D&P crossover period. Completely stopped Blissey and Gallade couldn’t really do much either. Not a bad quality controller for your next draw, I’m sure that power won me plenty of games.

Attacks with effects that disable the use of the opposing Pkmn’s Attack are highly useful against Pkmn with an Ability and only one Attack. Sadly, just like my Beartic deck quickly learned, putting a stop to your opponent’s Active won’t stop them from attacking with something else. Early on, I made a BW deck that used Torment and such. That deck failed so hard that haha. I was such a noob last year. :P

This card received a spiritual reprint in SM6b Champion Road – for those unfamiliar with what JP sets get absorbed into which EN sets, you want to look at CES Sableye. In terms of the chronology of the cards getting such reprints (most of which was absorbed into Celestial Storm, but a few instead went to Dragon Majesty and Lost Thunder, and possibly others), that makes this Sableye the “newest” card to get the treatment. (There are several cards from N1 that would basically tie for oldest.)
Sableye’s Excavate comboed particularly well with Banette ex‘s Shadow Chant (Banette ex also got a spiritual reprint, as Banette GX) but you could conceivably throw Sableye into some decks to accelerate/optimize your draw power. As mentioned above by HEZ, Sableye continued to see play into early DP. ポケカwiki suggests Sableye’s time was up once GE Lunatone offered a better form of draw management with its Gravity Change Poké-Power. https://archive.ph/Rryrg
