There is a non-trivial difference between the text of the first attack for the JP and EN print of this card;

自分の山札から「超」エネルギーカードを1枚選び出し、自分の控えポケモンにつける。その後、その山札をよく切る。

Rather than putting a {P} Energy card into your hand (after showing it to your opponent), Energy Support should have had you attach that card to one of your Benched Pokémon.
