Flip a coin. If heads, choose a Trainer card in your opponent’s discard pile that isn’t put in play (like PlusPower or Mysterious Fossil). You may use that card as if it were in your hand, if you do everything required in order to play that card (like discarding cards). The card stays in your opponent’s discard pile.

I really dislike this card’s wording.

That is a little weird, they could’ve used Koga’s Ninja Trick and Brock’s Protection.

For fun, with a friend we templated this card as a Supporter-copying Supporter. Before you ask, yes, we did get to make a recursion play that led to the most hacky fixing I’ve ever had to do on a template (yay for putting opponent’s cards into my hand!).

The JP print of this card also listed two cards as examples of cards that can’t be chosen – it went with PlusPower and Clefairy Doll. No apparent reason to make the switch, and I’m surprised WOTC remember sets other than Base Set existed long enough to use one of the cards as an example?

I hope we get new item-copying effects like this, now that Pokemon Tools aren’t Items.
(Although Fossils and Poke Dolls still exist.)
