There’s really no way to overstate how beautiful every card in this set is. I’ve been a Pokemon fan since the very beginning, but I’ve never had any special fondness for gen 1 relative to any other gen. Despite that, though, this could very well be my favorite set — the amount of love and attention poured into every pokemon within it is incredibly apparent, and it’s so nice to see pokes like Sandslash and Parasect being treated with the same reverence as mainstays like Charizard and Pikachu. The commitment to every Kanto pokemon really sells it for me.
