This artwork was featured in the 2022 TCG Online Illustration Exhibition, and included a comment from the artist, KIYOTAKA OSHIYAMA;
“Sandygast’s simple design can make it difficult to capture in motion, so I chose to depict a situation that could help it stand out from other card illustrations. Naturally, the setting had to be a beach, but I decided the debris washed ashore should be irresistible to the curious Pokémon. I had fun devising a scene where Sandygast is risking its life to check out the objects while also trying to avoid the waves that threaten to wash it away as they crash upon the shore.”
