“Heh heh. that little Treecko with a double colorless energy is all that you have left to stop my Mewtwo EX’s sweep from taking your final prize counter. What are you going to do. Bleed on me?”

Back in EX Team Magma vs Team Aqua, we got Blaziken 𝒆𝒙, Swampert 𝒆𝒙, and Sceptile 𝒆𝒙. All 3 are going to get ex cards again in Crystal Guardians, and it’s no problem for the first two – Blaziken was an {R} type last time, so this time it’s an {F} type; Swampert was a {F} type last time, so this time it’s a {W} type. Sceptile doesn’t have a secondary type in the video games, and getting a second ex card – without repeating its previous typing, like its counterparts here – seems to be what motivates it becoming a Pokémon ẟ for this set.
