Any ideas on how this would work with LEGEND Pokemon? My hope is that you would scoop both halves, but since this technically isn’t a basic it gets quite hard to tell what would actually happen.

I would assume you couldn’t play it if you look at the major philosophies when playing Trainers: “Do as much as you can” and “You can’t play a Trainer for no effect”. So, in the first philosophy, you would choose the Legend and then return the Basic, which doesn’t exist. So, all you would do is choose it, while the effect doesn’t even fizzle as Hypnotoxic Laser does on Virizion-EX w/ [G] attached, which leads me to the second philosophy, which forces you to choose a different Pokemon.
