Out of all the half-arts of this, I think I like this one most. Maybe it’s the green/nature background and how things ‘fit together’ nicely, but it’s reverse holo is quite nice

Serperior appeared in Battle Ruler, the Zygarde FCO theme deck, as a 1-2-3 evolution line. It was quite common for theme decks back then to feature a 1-2-3, 1-2-4 or 2-2-4 stage 2 line, and they often ended up being my favorite Pokémon lines in the decks, such as in the case of Dragonite ROS 52 and Delphox FCO because they were often the strongest or most interesting Pokémon in the decks. (The other Pokémon in Battle Ruler were Pupitar FCO, Lucario FCO, Carbink FCO 49, Hawlucha FCO, Wormadam FCO 3, Deerling FCO, Shuckle FCO, and Cinccino FCO 89, so the competition wasn’t super stiff.)
Serperior in particular blew me away for two reasons… first, it had the most powerful one Energy attacks I had ever seen! And second, it evolved from a fascinating stage 1, Servine FCO, who had a chance of paralyzing Pokémon just by evolving! This made the Serperior line an instant shoe-horn into nearly all my bad Grass type lists for the next three years, until I got my Rayquaza GX league battle deck.
Interestingly, Jason Klaczynski has a casual Serperior deck for the XY through Evolutions format on his blog. (2016 Worlds works too.) https://jklaczpokemon.com/xy-decks-2/#serperior The deck feels like something I would have cobbled together using parts from my dismantled Jesper Eriksen replica deck from Target, but with better card counts, and uses Forest of Giant Plants, AZ and Super Scoop Up to abuse Serpentine Strangle and mitigate the downside of Slashing Strike, while Ariados AOR lets you do some extra chip damage.
