   I wonder why this card was reprinted instead of Cynthia, its superior alternative?

     Different formats just have different available supporters — Creatures doesn’t seem to like having too many powerful draw supporters in Standard at once. Gen 5 was Professor Juniper and N (and Colress), gen 6 was Professor Sycamore and N, gen 7 was Cynthia, and gen 8 is Professor’s Research and Marnie. Gen 7 was a bit strange in how few “good” draw supporters it had, but I think it’s indicative of how strong they perceive vanilla shuffle-and-draw-6 to be (and it also had Dedenne GX to compensate).

     Going back, you could ask the same thing about Shauna back when she first appeared, when she was just a worse Professor Oak’s New Theory.

       I see. Shauna just feels redundant in a format where Marnie is around!
