I mean, there were absolutely use-cases for Revenge Blast. The attack is strong enough to Knock Out any EX of the time as long as it doesn’t have an https://pkmncards.com/card/eviolite-noble-victories-nvi-91/ attached and as long as your opponent has taken 5 prize cards. There was an online tournament for the 2012 Worlds format back in late February, and the winning deck was a rogue Scizor Prime / Vileplume UD deck that could use Shaymin EX as a finishing move. (Conveniently, Vileplume prevents opponents from attaching Eviolite.)
I need to write a comment under Scizor Prime explaining the deck.
